No, that's not right. There once was a version of screen that
ignored termcap information, but this got changed a long time ago...

That's hard for me to see, since I haven't seen a recent changelog for
screen, so determining what it does means I get to read through the code.

*grin*. That one counted as bugfix, so there is no entry in the
changelog (aka patchlevel.h).

oh. I don't have the source at hand, but seem to recall that there are no recent changelogs bundled with the source. It would be nice if the changelog were available. (I usually don't have ncurses' source archives at hand, but can usually find the pertinent change by looking at the NEWS file).

I'll read through the source for 4.0.2 when I'm home, to see what's changed.
