Hmm. Second thing :) --
It's not required for all files in a project to have the same license. For
instance, in GNU packages we ask maintainers to use the GNU GPL for sources
and the GNU FDL for documentation.
But in theory, you could have one source file be pd, one be GPL'd, one be
under Expat, etc., etc. This can actually happen even in practice when they
originate from different people/projects.
Of course when a single person is creating new source code, it's usual to put
it all under the same license. But as long as they're all compatible, it's
ok.
