Follow-up Comment #4:

Hi,

>Should I do that in the man page too, txr.1? How about the
>Makefile? Is that source?

We think that every non-trivial file which isn't generated automatically
somehow should have a copyright&license attached, including makefiles written
"by hand". A typical measurement for non-triviality of text is about 10 lines.
So its good for the makefile and the man page to have it. For the man page it
is even better to actually display the copyright info. Look for example at
"man cat". They have a dedicated subsection where they mention the license for
the program to the user.

I think the choice for the test queries is a good one. Even if they are
pretty short at the moment, they are likely to grow in the life of the
project. So it's good for them to have some notice right from the beginning
and declaring public domain doesn't consume much space.

The file "data" is a typical example for a generated file. Anybody can
reproduce this easily by calling ps. So this one is fine to have no license or
copyright.

I approve your project. Enjoy maintaining it.
Good luck.
