== REGISTRATION DETAILS ==
Full Name:
----------
*Phone Libre !*
System Group Name:
-----------------
*phonelibre*
Type:
-----
non-GNU software & documentation
License:
--------
GNU General Public License V2 or later
Description:
------------
Basically the project aims to host and foster the development of free phone
drivers for the GNU/Linux operating system. Ultimately with the aim of being
able to offer a stable working phone implementation that is also suitable for
embedded devices.
Currently in scope is the development and maintenance of Yealink compatible
device drivers for the Yealink type usb phones. And offer hosting platform
for application developers and new usb-phone device drivers if new
maintainers step up.
In development I have the vision that we ultimately bring free usb-phone
support for every Linux user on the planet. We will closely cooperate with
user-space application programmers in order to provide a programming
interface that needs as little as possible intervention in application code
across the devices we support. So apart from offering stable drivers, we will
focus on an efficient user space programming interface.
Currently a working implementation of the code is in:
(Development) http://cvs.savannah.gnu.org/viewcvs/usbb2k-api/yealink-module/
(Stable) http://kernel.org/
The reason to move from the usbb2k-api project is that I think that we need a
new name that matches the broader scope of the project.
Finally a word of thanks to the usbb2k-api folks for letting me hosts the
development code there.
Other Software Required:
------------------------
Software Dependencies:
- Linux 2.6.x
Clients supporting the driver.
- Linphone with Yeaphone extentions
