  The goal of the project is to develop a set of LV2 audio plugins, tools and
support libraries for LV2 plugins, and possibly extensions to the LV2 standard
if they are needed by the plugins. The plugins will mostly be softsynths and
utilities for modular synthesis. The first planned plugins are a waveshaping
based synth and an oscilloscope, both of which already exist as DSSI plugins
and will be ported to LV2 (source code:

sampler and a few other synths are also in early development/planning.

LV2 is the next version of the LADSPA plugin architecture which is used in
lots of free audio editors, hard disk recorders, modular synths, effect racks

Other Software Required:
  All code will be written in C++.

The plugins will depend on the lv2.h header file from the LV2 spec
(, which is licensed under the LGPL.
Plugin GUIs will depend on gtkmm ( and liblo
(, released under the LGPL and the GPL respectively.
