Description:
------------
GNU/Archimedes is the GNU package for the simulation of semiconductor
devices.

It implements the well-known 2D Monte Carlo method for electrons coupled to
the Poisson equation for the description of the electric field, and take into
account the quantum effects implementing the new method know as effective
potential method.

The code is made as more general as possible, so one has to introduce the
geometrical and physical description of the device to be simulated by a
simple script language.

In its first release (0.0.1) GNU/Archimedes is able to simulate only Silicon
Electrons but in the second release (0.0.2), being implemented, it is able to
simulate also GaAs electrons with two energy bands.

At the moment the only way to get the GNU/Archimedes source-code (which have
been recently dubbed a GNU code by R.M.Stallman) is to ask me it at the
following email address:

address@hidden

Other Software Required:
------------------------
no particular dependencies (you only need gcc and GNUplot)

Other Comments:
---------------
The GNU/Archimedes code has been, recently, dubbed a GNU package by
R.M.Stallman.
