We are delighted to announce the launch of the "Trophées du Logiciel libre" 
(called TL09 for free software development) on October 15th, 2008 and should be 
closed by the winning ceremony around the second quarter of 2009.

As for the previous years, the "Trophées du Libre" will allow, one more time, 
the discovery of innovative free software around the world and will allow their 
development in giving recognition by international experts, a worldwide 
visibility and some finance support.

The "Trophées du Logiciel Libre" (called TL 09) will be organized in the 
Picardy region - France - and will recognize the free software in 8 domains : 
software for education, professional software for businesses, software for 
scientific domains, security software & system administration, software for 
family usage, software for art media, public sector software, innovative 
projects plus the jury special prize and the honor prize for, a very large 
project.

PRIZES
For the winners

For the 2009 competition, the winner of each category will be presented with :
    The sum of 3,000 euros to contribute to funding project
For the seconds

Second nominees in each category will be offered

    * The sum of 1,000 €

For the thirds

Last finalist in each category will be rewarded by

    * € 500 as a contribution to the project

For the finalists the cost of the transport and the hosting is taken care by 
the steering commit
