i claim that my use is protected by the "fair-use for
education" clause of copywrite law. i haven't received any
complaints (email or letters) from film studios. If i
receive such complaints then i will have the choice of
either removing the infringing material or going to court.
i'm not a lawyer, but here's my legal opinion:

If you think savannah is taking on too much risk by hosting
my web site then let me know _now_, before i move everything.

Binaries files like divX should be uploaded in your download area, not in
your CVS. You can use rsync with your download area.
Just a question: do you have to right, legally, to distribute these divX?
While I'm personally not against sharing and I understand the purpose of
these divX for your project, Savannah cannot host illegal files.
