Silvano Galliani <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: DNC - Distributed Network Conference
System name: dnc
Type: non-GNU
Description:
http://savannah.nongnu.org/register/basicinfo.php?re_purpose=DNC (Distributed
Network Conference) is a system that concurs to make streaming of conferences
via Internet.
DNC transmits the audio of the conference but also the slides. So that they are
perfectly synchronized with the speech of the reporter.
DNC is strongly based on JOrbisPlayer(www.jcraft.com/jorbis) and it use the
wonderful codec ogg-vorbis (www.vorbis.com).
It is in java in order to make it available for any os.
Its attempt is to make everyone able to assist to conferences also from remote
and also without large bandwidth. We think classic video conferences are
impossible
without large resources, therefore unusable for the people.
