A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org.
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden
Paul G. Allen <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Dream Park Game Engine
System name: dpge
This package does NOT want to apply for inclusion in the GNU project
Dream Park Game Engine (DPGE). This is a 3D game engine designed on, for, and
with GNU/Linux. It uses the latest OpenGL and 3D technology. DPGE is a 32-bit
3D First Person engine based upon the id Software Quake II 3.19 game engine
that was recently released under the GNU GPL license (a copy of which is
provided with the DPGE source). DPGE is highly modified and improved, and will
support:
- Rendering to remote displays.
- Multiple monitors.
- Distributed processing (not just multi-processing).
- Advanced 3D graphics such as transparency, fog, and shadow mapping.
- A complete particle engine.
- A terrain engine.
DPGE graphics, models, and maps can easily be made by already existing map and
graphics editors such as free products like \"The Gimp\", and \"Quest\", and
proprietary products such as \"3D Studio MAX\", \"Blender\", and \"World
Craft\".
It already exists and you can see it at http://www.planetquake.com/ros, with a
tarball available at http://www.planetquake.com/ros/download.html
