A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org.
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden
Christoph Groth <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Falmaidan
System name: falmaidan
This package does NOT want to apply for inclusion in the GNU project
Falmaidan, which in the elven tongue Sindarin means ``Maker of Waves\'\', is a
program for animating fluids. It allows the user to create 3d animations which
contain realistically moving fluids. Currently the program understands a
subset of the POV-Ray scene description language for input. More information
can be found under http://falmaidan.sf.net/ .
Further development will concentrate on the following areas:
- Improving the simulation method (make it faster & more stable).
- Generation of a realistic-looking fluid surface.
- Support for other renderers (e.g. Panorama).
- Making the program more usable.
The project has been frozen for several months due to its main author
fulfilling his social service in Germany but work is about to restart. The
author has been invited by http://www.jugend-forscht.de/ to present his work at
the CeBIT in March. He would like to find a replacement for SourceForge until
that time.
