Alexandre Brillant <address@hidden> described the package as follows:

Package: JASon
System name: jason2
This package wants to apply for inclusion in the GNU project
JASon is the Java Activation Service on. This is a framework for
tied specific modules into a complete application server. Each module
could be provided from independant project.
JASon uses XML for defining parameters for each service and for
defining bootstrap configuration. JASon uses a similar linux
architecture with runlevel concept.
User through the standard JASon API doesn\'t focus on the \"how\" but
on the \"what\". The \"how\" through the framework gives a support
for cache, thread pooling, log, remote configuration... The \"what\"
is a standard java that inherits from a JASon class handling the
life cycle of the class.
JASon uses an applet Similar System. A service can run, be stopped
or restarted.
JASon comes with three modules : An HTTP Server 1.0, a servlet
engine and an administration tools.
JASon will provide in future release a real application server
supporting the J2EE standard from Sun Microsystem.
JASon is available at : http://www.djefer.com/~aws
