It would make it easier to package Savane for a GNU distribution.
I think that the frontend code should be installed as well.It seems to me, that would mean increased burden on Savannah admins with no great practical benefits.
I wasn't aware of that, could you elaborate? I already agree that it's much easier to modify and deploy directly from the source tree.
