Hi,
If you check the right side of https://savannah.nongnu.org/ ,
there is a statistic of the "help required"; required developer,
required manager, required document-writer, required tester, etc.
Checking them would be a first step to contribute the projects
hosted in savannah.org.
But, there are some projects that expects the "Indic" volunteer
because of the language barriers. For example, HarfBuzz, an open
source OpenType (and Graphite) rendering library is still looking
for the testers of some Indic scripts.
http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/HarfBuzz/Indic
As you see, it is NOT hosted by savannah.org, but I think most
developers around GNU project have no objection about the importance
of such projects related with the internationalization & national
language supports.
