Most of those repository viewers are pretty heavy.
Indeed. Stray ideas ...
1. Would it be feasible/sensible to invoke them through some kind of
wrapper that checks if the load is too high and says "sorry goodbye" if so?
This was caused by someone crawling viewvc too fast.
Presumably a robot.
2. Is it useful enough to have robots hit them? (I understood from the
previous mail that some where.) E.g.,
User-agent: *
Disallow: /viewvc
or some such.
