Mahdieh just confirmed that the problem was fixed on her system in a clean new
build :-). So I am closing this bug.

Thanks a lot Mahdieh and Raul for helping in finding the problem and
confirming the fix ;-).

Generally, I also like the fact that with this commit, the symbolic links made
to the system's programs (even for GNU/Linux systems) now use 'realpath' to
follow links to an actual file before making the link. So we won't be linking
to links any more :-).
