branch.
In fact as you see, I extended it to all three software building Makefiles and
to support all the software that are affected by this change (those that have
a number in their name!). It was really annoying for me that for example `m4'
had to go in the `elif' with only an `m'!!! But there were always more
important things to do. I am happy it is fixed now, thanks for suggesting this
fix :-).
