rdiff-backup is a nice tool, but the lack of interface may fear most end
users. The guys of rdiffweb done most of job with their rdifflib, but
some event api is missing.

The simplest way to do that may be a dummy Event class, with some
trigger like backup(file), or anything that is logged or dump to the
stdout. When you launch rdiff, you can choose a real implementation of
the Event class, il may be a Cocoa Event, a Gnome Event, or a Twisted
Event for example. With that, you can have alert window, progress bar or
anything better than a shell full of text.
This code must be inside rdiff-backup core, and must be cross
plateforme. Implementation can be done by anyone.
Is there any idea of code like that? is it a good idea?

Sorry for my english.

M.
