Status: None => Invalid

Follow-up Comment #1:
Those options are set by Python's distutils to make sure that the modules are
compiled correctly for the local machine. Rdiff-backup's setup files don't
specify any debug options.
I believe the -g option is necessary to make the stacktraces work through the
C module. By allowing those stacktraces to exist for all users, many users
have posted their problems to the mailing list and numerous bugs have been
closed.
If you're concerned about rdiff-backup's performance, dropping the debugging
symbols unfortunately won't provide any noticeable (or perhaps even
measurable) change. :-)
