URL: <http://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?23129> Summary: Feature request: Using a list generated by fslogger or inotify as source Project: rdiff-backup Submitted by: guruevi Submitted on: Thursday 05/01/2008 at 15:47 Category: None Severity: 3 - Normal Item Group: None Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any _______________________________________________________ Details: What I would like to see in one of the following versions is to be able to update a backup repository using a list of files to check instead of rdiff-backup doing all the work. Currently if you run a backup it's going to go over all the directories and files looking for changed files which can take a long time. However, lately operating systems have been having features like inotify and fslogger which keeps track of files that have changed. This can be dumped into a file or so that will then have a list of all the files that've been changed. Just like the include or exclude switch there should be an update switch to only go over a certain list of files and it shouldn't alter any files/metadata on the files it didn't check (just copy it over or so) _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?23129> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.nongnu.org/
