Details:

I am a new user to rdiff-backup and believe I have found a bug.
My apologies if I am mistaken.

I found the problem by archiving a windows XP partition then asking     
rdiff-backup to identify differences between the archive and the          
current partition. It reported many differences.

It was easy to simplify the problem to one file and directory combination.

I believe that it is caused by a bizarre combination of permissions set for
the file and directory. I describe it more in 
the attached file as it is much easier to explain if I  can control the word
wrap of the bugreport.
