Is there anybody with a real beige G3 Mac

I have an OldWorld G3 tower, although it’s not really beige, but light grey. ;-)

It should do (irrespective of discoloration due to age or different opinion about its color) as long as it's the same model which is usually referred to as a beige G3:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_Macintosh_G3#Beige_2

What OpenFirmware version does it print and what is the .properties output of the / node?

The above link has come info:

"ROMEarly G3s with Revision A ROMs do not support slave devices on their IDE controllers, limiting them to one device per bus (normally one optical drive and one hard disk). Additionally, they came with onboard ATI Rage II+ video. G3s with Revision B ROMs support slave devices on their IDE controllers, and had the onboard video upgraded to ATI Rage Pro. G3s with Revision C ROMs also support slave devices on their IDE controllers, but the most significant technical differences are the newer Open Firmware version than the previous two models (2.4 vs 2.0f1) and another onboard video upgrade, this time to ATI Rage Pro Turbo."

This reminds me that on QEMU the default ide-cd appears on ide1 as unit=0 master but there's some issue that a non-working slave device always appears which may confuse the ROM. This was once discussed on the QEMU list when I've found that maybe MorphOS logs some errors but I don't remember when was that but a long time ago. But I think it's still not fixed so it may be related to this if it works on real machine but not on QEMU.
