Theoretically speaking if QEMU was switched to VirtualBox's hypervisor, it 
would only take one person to keep things working on Linux, Mac OS X, Solaris, 
and Windows. The API would probably be the same on all three platforms so 
changes would be pretty uniform. It might be a better hypervisor than KVM. 

If the API did change, one patch might make things working again on all four 
operating systems.
