OK, so if we make this :

  if (!inode) {
      fuse_reply_err(req, EBADF);
      return;
  }

  if (!S_ISREG(inode->filetype)) {
      lo_inode_put(lo_data(req), &inode);
      fuse_reply_err(req, EBADF);
      return;
  }

(Untested)
