  USB mouse is jumpy on y-axis (patch attached)

Bug description:
  Found a problem with the mouse while using revision
  50809c8b9288a9bfe1fdec926b7ef985608a7ea6. The mouse misbehaved and
  jumped up and down while trying to move in one direction along the
  y-axis (up or down).

  All was good at revision a9e8aeb3755bccb7b51174adcf4a3fc427e0d147
  (v2.0.0). A bisect narrowed it down to here
  8b84286f4cd0ff5dbf367dc55cf20d9762ac5634. The patch attached is based
  on 50809c8b9288a9bfe1fdec926b7ef985608a7ea6. I hope it doesn't cause
  another problem.
