qemu-system-arm works fine for me compiled with either Apple's
gcc or Apple's clang.

Thanks Peter,

I was indeed running with a botched kernel like you suggested.

For future references, are there any debug/logging options I can toggle to get a bit more insight into what QEMU is doing?
