How stable is it likely to be between versions of QEMU and KVM?

Once I merge the migration patches, I'll help Avi merge this into KVM. The whole point of this exercise is to merge the KVM bits into QEMU but in the process, I decided the bits needed to be written :-)

Yes. The primary reason that hasn't been possible in the past was because of how memory was migrated. The new memory migration protocol happens to make it easier to let QEMU and KVM be compatible. That wasn't an accident :-)
