At 16x16 the mimetype icons look somewhat blurry.  I suggest, that
for icons smaller than 32x32 you remove the "GNU PSPP" lettering (which
cannot be read at small sizes) and make the bell curves a little bigger.

Do they look like the image attached or blurred?, I ask because sometimes the icon images are blurred by errors in the wrong canvas size.
Currently I have relied on documentation and seeing examples of icons and they use the same principle (in GNOME, the letters have a Blur effect from size 256x256). That Blur effect I have not used.
However, I agree but I do changes take time, and I need to find out a little more to achieve greater results.
To improve the small icons, I try to communicate with some graphic designers GNOME.

There is too much lettering on the splash screen.
The splash stays on the screen for only half a second so cannot be read
anyway.  Also, it would not be easy to translate the text to the language
of the locale.  I suggest we keep the "GNU PSPP" bit and remove the rest
of the lettering.

Ok, I made these changes to give a professional touch, but in the early designs of the "splash" is what you say. If so will perform the changes, however, if you agree, I would make a reference to "free software foundation"
note: as I mentioned, and there is a design that has sent what you ask, if they like, they could use that.

Also on the splash screen, and the 'about' logo, the lettering is a solid
black.  I wonder if a little more colour could be introduced there?

OK, try to choose a proper color palette.

Bastian, if you think anything needs to be changed here, please feel free
to commit it to the repository yourself.

Thank you very much.
For now, I am preparing to go to a small camp. So when will a few drafts back tomorrow. When you do something definite changes

Regards
