Bear in mind that if any of your weight values other than 1, you will
have altered the frequency table.  A better solution would be to do
something like FORMATS /V4729 (F11.0).

     and create a var with only 1 digit to represent this, all my
     frequencies will have only one digit?

If you set the format of the weight variable to F1.0 (is that a valid
format?), then yes.  But that would be a wierd thing to do.
