It is easy to add a date format. Probably, it would take only a
few minutes and a few lines of code.
The trouble starts when you want to save a .sav file with the
format. There would be no way to do so and remain compatible
with other software that does not understand our extension. This
is why I have resisted adding similar extensions in the past.
(If we can come up with a good solution, then that is my only
real objection, I think.)
