I made my experiment as root! 

so I tried it again:

The first time I load the module via ./load_module.sh it fails and 
the syslog said

Dec  3 14:17:14 cserver kernel: retrieve_vm_pages returned error.
Dec  3 14:17:14 cserver kernel: retrieve_monitor_pages returned error

after that I tried to load the module by hand with
insmod plex86.o in kernel directory

Dec  3 14:20:35 cserver kernel: 3 monitor pages located
Dec  3 14:20:35 cserver kernel: host CR0=0x8005003B
Dec  3 14:20:35 cserver kernel: 

Then I remove the module with rmmod plex86.

Now I try the script load_module.sh again.
It says that it successfully has load the module and 
the syslog said

Dec  3 14:23:11 cserver kernel: 2 monitor pages located
Dec  3 14:23:11 cserver kernel: host CR0=0x8005003B
Dec  3 14:23:11 cserver kernel: 

Now I start the plex86 -f win95

Dec  3 14:29:39 cserver kernel: plex86: vm_t size is 265320
Dec  3 14:29:39 cserver kernel: retrieve_phy_pages: PTE.P==0: i=1, 
n=8192 laddr=0xf92cc000
Dec  3 14:29:39 cserver kernel: plex86: allocVmPages failed at 2

What goes wrong and how can i debug the source 

I have build the 2.4.20 linux-kernel and successfully installed on my 
machine. The Processor is an Intel Xeon with hyperthreading ... 
maybe that's the problem?
