Yes, I specified start and end times.
I tried this also in some internet demos, i.e. on www.phpgw.de.

Another detail I found in my php-error-log is this:

PHP Warning:  Variable passed to each() is not an array or object in 
/usr/local/phpgroupware/calendar/inc/class.uicalendar.inc.php on line 2720

Summary:  Day view in Calender doesn't display appointments correctly

Original Submission:  In day view all appointments appear on top of the day. 
and not at the time they are scheduled.

This makes calendar unusable !!
