[Paparazzi-devel] Command line autonomous flights with Parrot AR Drone 2

Subject: [Paparazzi-devel] Command line autonomous flights with Parrot AR Drone 2.0?

Hello,

I have an AR Drone 2.0, a flight recorder, and a Linux laptop setup with paparazzi but I haven't had the ability to go play with the software much, so I would like to ask a few questions to help me determine if I'm going down the right path on this project.

I need to be able to generate a GPS flight path and send the drone on the path and back without using a GUI, and likely being outside of WiFi range of the drone. Of the videos and tutorials I've seen, the drone appears to always be in WiFi range, and commanded with the GUI. From what I've read, it seems possible to upload the Paparazzi control onto the AR Drone, which can be customized to follow a path I upload at the start, but I'm not quite sure where to start.

Is my project doable using the Paparazzi software? Where should I start?

My alternative is to tape a Raspberry Pi to the Drone and have it dictate commands to the drone, but that seems harder.

Thanks
-Mike
