HiI have built my first paparazzi craft, a hexcopter with a Lisa/M autopilot. However when trying fly it in AP_MODE_ATTITUDE_DIRECT I got a nasty surprise, the throttle did not respond when I turned down the stick.
It had a nice idle throttle when I powered on the craft, with all propellers spinning but not enough lift to do anything. The throttle increased ok when I pulled the stick up. But it did not respond as expected when I turned the stick down. I had assumed it would reduce the throttle to the idle state - instead it had more than enough power to lift with the stick fully down.
I am sure that it looked rather funny when I tried to catch and hold my home built hexacopter without hitting any propeller (I succeeded but could not figure out how to cut the power). But it makes me reluctant to try to fly again since I have zero control of the aircraft.
Any idea why it responded in this way?Can I analyze the log files to find out what the problem may be? Or do I need to turn on more messages for the next flight?
I have had some trouble getting the flap and gear switches to be transferred from my Spektrum DX6i transmitter, which is one of the reasons I did not have a working kill switch. I will obviously try to fix this before flying again.
