In general, the alt is absolute, while height, security height and home_mode_height are relative to ground_alt. Altitude displayed is absolute, not relative. Note the convention of height for relative and alt for absolute.

(Someone correct me if I am wrong).

Why does ground station show the current altitude some non zero value before the launch of aircraft. Shouldn't initial value of the current altitude of aircraft be zero?  And is secure height relative to some predefined value or it is absolute?

Can somebody give me a short description about these term?
