Ok i found the problem, the drotek 10dof imu has the orientation correct 
but
1) i was blind
2) the signs in the driver file were x,y,z  which is wrong. The correct 
signs are x, -y, -z (i think)

Now the artificial horizon is super fast and super stable with the 
calibration obtained with
the "calibrate.py" script.
