Hi Helge,
vmode is minimally explained at
http://paparazzi.enac.fr/wiki/Flight_Plans#Navigation_modes
hmode afaik is only used when you want to "go" to a waypoint but want
to control with respect to a line between the two waypoints
(hmode="route"). The other hmode beeing "direct", which is the
default.
Feel free to improve this in the wiki :-)
