Is
it advisable to disable the electronic speed controller throttle brake function
or not? I have disabled it: the brake function makes sense mostly with a
folding prop to make sure it will fold to reduce the drag. If you disable it, you will have a more lineare response of the
throttle : if you go fast and cut the throttle the propeller will keep turning
and will act as an airbrake and the plane will "brake". Theoretically
you can also reach a steeper glide angle at a lower speed when landing. One
disadvantage though : the prop will continue turning as you land and that may
increase the risk to brake it (to be proven…). |
