Just using the arrow? That shouldn't load the message, as arrow keys are
used for navigation without selection/load. (The ctrl/shift modifiers
then allow traditional multi-select.)

You'd use (and assign shortcuts to) the next/previous-article and/or next/
previous unread article, in ordered to navigate that way, and/or the read-
more function (normally mapped to space).

It /may/ be possible to edit the accels.txt file to set arrow keys for
shortcuts, but it won't be possible in the GUI, as they're reserved for
navigation.

That would be a bug in the still relatively new actions feature. I'm
actually not sure if it's fixed in the latest 0.139 or not. Thanks very
much for the report as that feature is new enough to need a bit of extra
testing, and reporting when things don't work as expected.

(Auto-download would normally mark-read, since it simply automates pan's
download-and-save functionality. But auto-cache shouldn't, since it's
just caching the messages. However, caching for future going thru is not
an intuitive mode for some people and it's somewhat obvious that pan's
authors defaulted to direct download-and-save, so it's likely this action
was created by simply omitting the save on the download action, only it
doesn't omit the mark-read as it should. But I've not done binaries in
years so I've not tested the function here, altho it was my description
of the long discussed auto-actions feature that Heinrich went on to
implement it, and it's likely few enough others use it too... But I /do/
seem to recall someone else mentioning it offhand, and it may actually be
fixed in the latest 0.139, I don't know.)

Heinrich??
