Solution:

Well, if anybody cares.  Add something like:

  <RDF:Description about="chrome://browser/content/browser.xul#main-window"
                   sizemode="normal"
                   width="788"
                   height="570"
                   screenX="0"
                   screenY="0" />

in your localstore.rdf and you are done (example for a 800x600 screen as
the one I'm working with now).  When you are happy, turn it readonly.
