I think the answer is yes. If you think of the person who has one of
these cards who is installing a Linux distro (with precompiled binaries,
'natch) who has needs the workaround, it would be *much* better to have
a module parameter to enable it then to have the poor schmuck have to
muck around with compiling his own (i.e, the distro installer would
check for the VIA bug and set the module parameter).

So while it may be a hassle for the coders (when is it not? ;-) from an
end user perspective this kind of thing is a godsend.

In my opinion, of course... ;-)
