Yes. The Shake EXR reader translates the data window into a DOD
and the Shake EXR writer does the opposite.

The function of datawindow in openEXR header seems to be similar to the
DOD (domain of definition) in SHAKE. 

(Note: A DOD, Domain of Definition, is a rectangular region around an
element that defines the part of the image you want to include in render
calculations.)

Are these two features related, i.e., 

would SHAKE read datawindow in EXR files and exclude empty image areas
from render calculations?
