Follow-up Comment #21, patch #10170 (project octave):

Unmodified. Works flawlessly.

With a modified file there's a surprise:

'edit tryfile.m'  ## (new file)
==> opens function tryfile.m in editor.
>> edit some stuff, don't save
>> in File Browser, rename 'tryfile.m' to 'tryfile2.m'
==> opens tryfile2.m in a new tab !?  and the popup shows.
Clicking "Save" seems to preserves the original non-renamed file.

... so there's a little bug there with modified files ...

BTW closing Octave in Linux makes Octave crash (grey window) & Plasma popup
"Terminate application?

(Windows 11 & Mageia 8, Octave-8.0.0)
