Follow-up Comment #1, patch #10021 (project octave):
AFAICS Matlab has no geodeticfwd.
meridianfwd is the inverse of meridianarc.
geodeticfwd is extension over reference ellipsoids of reckon.
Right?
Anyway both look useful to me.
