Follow-up Comment #43, patch #8656 (project octave):
char strings go fine; char arrays less so:
> b = {"thisisatext"; "anothertext"}
b =
{
[1,1] = thisisatext
[2,1] = anothertext
}
>> cell2mat (b)
ans =
thisisatext
anothertext
>> class (ans)
ans = char
>>
gives the attached pic.
Char arrays aren't used that much AFAIK so maybe no big deal.
