Follow-up Comment #15, patch #8656 (project octave):

I didn't get it compiling under Windows, but I found a ctrl-c / ctrl-v related
crash when no variables are open. Hopefully this might fix the crashes you
were experiencing.

I've also got editing on double-click working again for cells containing
matrices and strings.

With a little luck this should be all of the serious stuff.
