Follow-up Comment #8, patch #8215 (project octave):

You don't have to use bsxfun, automatic broadcasting is an Octave feature and
emant to be used. The warning is because the feature is new and may surprise
new users.

You can instead use "warning ("off", "Octave:broadcast", "local")" in the new
octave version.
