[Octave-patch-tracker] [patch #7857] Replace dynamic casts of GUI/IDE editor with more slots/signals configuration

Follow-up Comment #24, patch #7857 (project octave):

Daniel, it turned out that the patch disables the feature that the editor
becomes a real window when floating. The related lines of the newest patch
file are:
2185-2192, 2266-2271, 2447-2448, 2490-2494, 2514-2520
I guess this is not intended but happened in some way by creating the new
version of the patch?

Is it possible to split up the patch into several smaller ones? Maybe it would
be easier then to ensure that there are no other accidental changes.
