Another possibility would be to rename the Geometry clipPolygon function -- as far as I can tell there is no Matlab function of the same name, so it isn't a compatibility issue.
Or, package the Octave Forge version of Matgeom with its clipPolygon in a private/ folder, so that it doesn't shadow the Geometry function in the general namespace.
