But juan pablo's patch will only be usefule when the new version of "pkg.m" is
merged into core,
which means not before Octave 4.2, i.e., probably in a couple of years.
And Eugenio's patch was not really polished enough for pushing yet, so I
wouldn't be holding
my breath for it either.

Yes, and easing up the installation is a good part of the project given how
complicated it is to track all the dependenies of fem-fenics.
